What you'll be doing

Design and implement solutions that not only meet defined requirements but set the standard for excellence. Provide accurate estimates and scope for upcoming work, offering clarity on implementation and architectural details. Proactively support owned components to ward off potential technical or process issues, ensuring a smooth development journey. Maintain a vibrant team culture by developing team members and serving as the go-to person for issue escalations. Facilitate meetings, foster open dialogue, and organise knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance team collaboration. Ensure clear alignment with business goals, coordinate priorities with stakeholders, and communicate effectively with external parties. Uphold compliance with Bede’s policies, procedures, and established best practices. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, empowering team members to explore new ideas and technologies. Build strong relationships with other teams across the business, fostering alignment and collaboration with Product, Quality Assurance, and Operations teams. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, using this knowledge to guide the team’s technical direction and strategy. Stress the importance of testing throughout the development process, collaborating with the team to implement automated testing and continuous integration and delivery practices. Encourage and support the professional growth of team members by providing opportunities for training, mentorship, and career advancement.

What you’ll be working on:

Distributed microservices platform that handles more than 200 000 transactions each minute ASP.NET Core microservices written in C# Powered by .NET Core 3.1 and .NET 6.0 GitHub (git) for source control Kibana & Elastic search for logging Grafana & Prometheus for monitoring Docker for building containers Kubernetes for running containers Angular 9+ Azure SQL, CosmosDB, Redis 100% cloud hosted on Azure

What we are looking for

Ability to lead and manage a high-performing engineering team. In-depth knowledge of ASP.NET Core microservices written in C# Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration. Proven experience in providing accurate estimates, scoping upcoming work, and clarifying implementation details. Ability to align technical decisions with broader business objectives. Ability to organise and lead knowledge-sharing sessions. Demonstrated ability to ensure clear business goals, coordinate priorities with stakeholders, and communicate with external parties.
