Dynamo, a tech network based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, will be organising the festival in partnership with Sunderland Software City.
It plans to bring together 3,000 attendees to celebrate the diversity, achievements and exciting range of tech businesses that are shaping the future of the region.
Through a mixture of curated and community designed events, there will be an industry dinner, conference, Tech Talent Fair and, finally, a festival party to mark the occasion.
To achieve its impact, TechNExt encourages visitors from all over the UK to get involved and use this as an opportunity to preview the region’s thriving tech scene.
David Dunn, the CEO of Dynamo and Sunderland Software City, is encouraging businesses and organisations to use this opportunity to host a stall or fringe event.
Our aim is to bring at least 3,000 attendees together to showcase the vibrancy, excellence and ambition of the sector. Other areas of the UK already have tech festivals, so it’s about time we had a similar platform to show just how good we are!

Businesses of any size can take advantage of its three core programmes, Main Stage, Tech Talent Live and Festival Fringe.
Sarah Thackray, a director at Dynamo, has already noticed its impact.
We are very excited to see what the potential for the festival is. We have received so much support already from the business, and wider community and with our plans to launch the wider festival programme and more event details over the coming week we hope the momentum will continue to gather pace.
Established in 2013, Dynamo aims to grow the North East’s tech economy through collaboration and innovation.
As an industry-led membership organisation, it is made up of tech organisations, education providers, local government, large corporate employers, suppliers, and consultants. TechNExt is just one example of the great work they are doing for the region.
